Woman Hit by Truck on Bruce Highway

A woman in her 20s was hit by a truck Sunday night around 10:15 p.m. on Bruce Highway in Chatsworth. She was struck in the northbound lanes.

The woman was taken to the Gympie Hospital where a rescue helicopter was fired up waiting for her arrival. The most recent status of the woman was that she was in critical condition with a serious head injury.

Traffic while the accident was being cleaned up, investigated, and handled was diverted through Fraser rd., Corella Rd, and Oak St.

While traffic was being diverted, another accident took place south in Redcliffe. Two men wrecked down an embankment and luckily escaped with only minor injuries not requiring hospitalization.
